Within the context of increased international trade and the growth of the French export market, the state of health of cereals has a direct impact on trade transactions.
Health restrictions can put a block on trade; the article looks at examples of problems which have occurred on crops from different countries, caused by outbreaks of fungal pathogenic agents (presence of fungi or mycotoxins produced by them).
In the face of this situation and in reaction to new restrictions relating to plant protection product residues, French operators are drawing up a code of product certification and traceability. Risk analysis projects are currently being developed jointly by the ONIC and the Plant Protection Board.
