? édition du socle commun Onivins/IIV/INAO ;
? clarifications (générales à toute l'agriculture) apportées par la rapport Paillotin ;
For grapevines, the year 2000 was most notable for strong outbreaks of downy mildew in the early and mid-season in the vast majority of vineyards, followed by a return to good health at the end of the season, conditions which contributed to a good quality harvest.
The outbreaks of downy mildew required a large number of treatments, often involving the first real test for certain fungicide solutions. Fortunately, the choice of such solutions is much wider now compared to years in which similar conditions prevailed (1988 and 1977) and as a result the diseases were kept well under control in order to guarantee a good harvest.
The end of the season went off very well, with just minor outbreaks of Botrytis which were well-controlled by fungicide applications. For the second year running, and after three successive « heavy » years, powdery mildew gave little cause for concern; minor outbreaks being effectively dealt with by fungicide applications. Pests were very few and far between.
For next year, forecasters recommend paying close attention to dead-arm disease and phytoplasma diseases.
The year 2000 also saw progress made in terms of thoughts and actions related to integrated grape production, including the following :
? publication of common ONIVINS/ITV/INAO benchmarks;
? clarifications (applied generally to all branches of farming) provided by the government-backed Paillotin report ;
? publication of the French version of an IOBC integrated grape production reference document this November.
