En ce qui concerne la production de pomme de terre, 1999 aura été une année à pression moyenne de mildiou avec deux périodes importantes. D'abord de fin juin à mi-juillet (période très poussante pour la pomme de terre et favorable au mildiou) et ensuite en fin de saison (à partir des orages d'août).
Les pucerons sont discrets sauf en Champagne-Ardenne où ils ont souvent nécessité une intervention. Le puceron Aphis frangulae (identifié en France en 1997) semble ne pas trop se développer. En revanche on rencontre à nouveau le doryphore. La dartrose est à surveiller.
As far as potato production is concerned, 1999 saw fairly average outbreaks of potato blight, with two strong waves, the first between the end of June and the middle of July (a high-growth period for potato crops and extremely favourable for the development of potato blight) and the second at the end of the season (after the August storms).
Aphids generally kept a low profile, with the exception of the Champagne-Ardenne region, where their presence required control actions. The Aphis frangulae (first identified in France in 1997) does not seem to be developing. Colorado beetle on the other hand is making something of a comeback. A watchful eye should also be kept on Black dot.
