En Guadeloupe les cultures légumières et florales mises en oeuvre dans le cadre de la diversification agricole sont en butte à des maladies difficiles à maîtriser vu le climat de l'île. Aussi la création de variétés résistantes est-elle intéressante.
L'article relate les travaux de sélection contre:
? le flétrissement bactérien dû à Ralstonia solanacearum sur tomate, poivron et aubergine ;
? l'anthracnose due à Colletotrichum gloeosporioides sur aubergine et igname ;
? la virose causée par le PYMV sur tomate ;
? diverses maladies fongiques, bactériennes et virales sur melon ;
? la bactériose à Xanthomonas sur anthurium.
In Guadeloupe, vegetable and flower crops used within a programme of agricultural diversification are facing attacks from diseases which are difficult to control, owing to the climatic conditions prevalent on the island. As a result, it would be interesting to develop resistant varieties.
