Integrated farming can specifically enhance its products. The example of integrated fruit production is considered here based on the outpourings from the Integrated Plant Protection Club of Rhône-Poulenc Agro. The article reviews the different quality insignia (AOC, labels, conformity certificates, European appellations...), the regulations in force, the technical notification, the necessity for rigorous monitoring. French and Belgian examples show the difficulties which can arise in obtaining the recognition of food distributors and consumers with regard to the quality of fruit crops from integrated production. The marketing and communication consequences are dealt with. The products are shown to be more attractive, to taste better, and also to be ""cleaner"" (free of harmful toxins, and with plant protection residue levels below the maximum permitted levels).
