A decree issued on 9 July 2003 (published on 22 July 2003) by the Ministry of Agriculture, updates legislation pertaining to the compulsory control of grapevine flavescence and ensures coherence for all channels associated with the production of the Vitis genus.
The decree revokes a certain number of earlier governmental orders, reiterating several articles which they contained and establishing coherence between the different national orders and also with European legislation.
The decree of 9 July 2003 therefore maintains the key measures previously laid down (e.g. compulsory control, definition of perimeters etc.) and stipulates demands pertaining to the pulling-up of root stock (especially in so far as abandoned vines are concerned), the planting of mother vines and the treatment of plant matter using hot water.
