During a flower exhibition at Angers organised by students of the Enithp, a number of stands were devoted to plant protection.
One of these stands was used to present a Web site about diseases and pests affecting worldwide tea crops. Another stand provided an insight into the biotic and non-biotic causes of oak tree dieback. The arthropod stand presents insects which can be used in place of mammals for neuropsychological experiments and also for the perfection of new insecticides. Finally, a group of students set up a more light-hearted stand aimed at hithlighting the possible risks involved in experimentation. It was the opportunity to note the differences of reaction between technicians and general public, whose concerns become greater as their level of awareness diminishes. Since 1998 autumn term, the Enithp and ENSH schools have been superseded by two engineering schools, the ENITHP and the ENSHAP.
