Selon les chiffres de l'UIPP, le marché phytosanitaire français a globalement progressé en 1998 de 4,96 %, dépassant les 20 milliards de chiffre d'affaires, grâce à l'activité en métropole (13,6 milliards, soit + 6,76 %). Ces bons résultats n'empêchent pas l'incertitude pour l'avenir, liée à la réforme de la PAC et à la loi d'orientation. Figures presented by the UIPP (association of compagnies working in the plant protection industry) show that French sales of such products rose by 4,96 % in 1998 to over FF20bn, thanks largely to results on home soil (FF13.6bn), i.e. up 6.76%). These good results do not however erase concerns about the future, concerns relative to the reform of the Common Agricultural Policy and to the forthcoming steering act.
