An outline of the current management strategy of infestations by the Asian longhorned beetle, Anoplophora glabripennis, and the Citrus longhorned beetle, A. chinensis (Col.: Cerambycidae) in France, Italy, Germany, and Austria is presented. Several methods to improve and accelerate the eradication of the pests are proposed. A list of the host plants attacked in the four European countries is shown. Elements of biology of both pests are given and symptoms based on the shape and size of the exit holes are shown to differentiate infestations by these Asian pests and by native xylophagous insects.
