L'utilisation de granulés antilimaces en agriculture entraîne des risques d'intoxication de lièvres. Pour les non initiés, quelques connaissances du lièvre sont rappelées. Grâce au réseau SAGIR, l'impact des granulés molluscicides dans les intoxications de lièvres en France est étudié. L'évolution des mesures prises en faveur d'une meilleure utilisation de ces traitements et d'une meilleure protection des espèces non-cibles, a abouti à une baisse très sensible des cas d'intoxication de lièvres par ces granulés. The use of slug pellets in farming carries with it the unwanted risk of poisoning of hares. The article provides some background information about hare populations for those unfamiliar with the animal. Thanks to information provided by AGIR, a full study of the extent of hare poisoning by mollusc pellets is detailed.
In the wake of measures being taken to improve the use of such treatments and to ensure better protection of the non-target species, a clear drop in cases of poisoning has been recorded.
